The home of 24 hours Comedy in Africa, Comedy Central is making life a whole lot funnier with the premier time slot for hilarity on ‘New at Nine’. This is another way Comedy Central is showing its commitment to viewers by bringing nightly entertainment at 9 pm with fresh, new and hilarious content that has never aired on the channel before. This will include a number of titles coming to DStv for the very first time and shows that have never aired on the African continent before, starting with Schitt’s Creek.
Fresh from scooping the Golden Globe Award for Best Television Series, Musical or Comedy, hit sitcom Schitt’s Creek has made its DStv debut exclusively on Comedy Central’s New at Nine on the 29th of March. Acclaimed by critics and adored by viewers around the world, the multi-award winning series centres on the riches-to-rags drama of the inimitable Rose family, who went bankrupt at the hands of their business partner and family friend. They move to an ugly small town they bought as a joke called Schitt’s Creek.
For the first time on DStv, African viewers will be able to tune into all six seasons of the global hit sitcom, which introduces the once-wealthy Roses, Johnny (Eugene Levy) and Moira (Catherine O’Hara) and their adult children, David (Daniel Levy) and Alexis (Annie Murphy).
With their pampered lives now abandoned, they must confront their new-found poverty and discover what it means to be a family, all within the rural city limits of Schitt’s Creek.
